At launch in February 2004, the index will point to 2,000 collections, representing more than 7 million pages of histories, with a freely available collection-level bibliographic record for all 2,000 collections. The index will link through to 10,000 – 20,000 pages of full text, including an estimated 500 audio files and 200 video files. Subscribers will also receive 15,000 – 20,000 interview-level bibliographic records for histories indexed at the interview level, allowing users to search oral histories as never before. |
By
the end of the first year, we expect the index to point to 300,000 pages of full
text, 2500 collections, 600 video files, and 1600 audio files --- and it will
continue to grow year by year. Please register your collections with us! We
aim to index all the important oral histories available either on the web or
hidden away in archives, in English, all around the world. Please e-mail any comments you have to Editor@AlexanderSt.com. |
